Artist's Comments

This is my entry for "Bring Your Vision to Life" contest 2009.

In fact this is my first time joining a contest. I like the theme, so I decided to give it a try.
Any favorites and comments are most welcome.

This piece is an ambigram.
Yet I tried to create a face in which when you look at it upside down is a different character. So this, is supposedly a two different mood of the same character, when it's upside down, the expression vague and becomes different.
Hopefully it works well XD.

Here it is, "The Queen Of Spade".

No matter how beautiful or wonderful a person is, there will always be another side, a flaw.

Good and evil always live between a line which is very vague.

We might perceive good or evil differently. It might be good for me but not necessarily for you.

Good and evil are two inseparable things, they co-exist.

Without one, we are not what we are.

We always learn from failure and strive towards perfection.

Evil reminds us to keep moving forward, and good lights the path for us to walk on.

Humans are never perfect, we are imperfect, everything is imperfect.

Yet, that is what makes us special. Because none of us are the same.

And with all of the imperfections, we make this world perfectly balanced and wonderful.

Without one,
The World is imperfect.

The concept for this is amazing. Their truly is only a thin line that separates good from evil. And as its commonly known, every coin has two heads; a single flip can change everything around.

The monochromatic hot colors are brilliant. Spectacularly calming when combined with the overall strokes and emotions portrayed. Magnificent use of depth, balance and patterns.

However, ironically; when looking at the bottom picture, I almost see a bearded roman-styled monster due to the lines and strokes that are now driving my eye to the bottom center of attention near her previous crown.

Great work mate! votes!
